Pope Sees the Devil Behind Timing of Sex Abuse Crisis
Saturday, 12 June 2010
Since the Catholic sexual abuse crisis erupted a decade ago, there have been numerous attempts to explain its causes, from a lack of fidelity to an over-emphasis on celibacy and clerical privilege. This morning in Rome, Pope Benedict XVI pointed to a deeper unseen force lurking behind the crisis, especially its timing: the Devil.
It’s no accident, the pope implied, that precisely as the Catholic church was celebrating a “Year for Priests” in 2009-2010, the sexual abuse crisis once again took on massive global proportions. “It was to be expected that this new radiance of the priesthood would not be pleasing to the ‘enemy,’” Benedict XVI said. “He would have rather preferred to see it disappear, so that God would ultimately be driven out of the world.” The term "the enemy" is a traditional Catholic way of referring to the Devil.'
FAA Closes Down Gulf of Mexico Air Traffic
Saturday, 12 June 2010
'All aircraft operations are prohibited except those flights authorized by ATC, routine flights supporting offshore oil operations; federal, state, local and military flight operations supporting oil spill recovery and reconstitution efforts; and air medical and law enforcement operations.
Boehner: Government -- i.e. Taxpayers -- Should Help Pay For Oil Spill
Saturday, 12 June 2010
'Congressional Democrats and the White House are toying with different ways to force BP to cover the costs of damages from the Gulf oil spill. But they face stiff opposition from industry...and it seems leading Republicans. In response to a question from TPMDC, House Minority Leader John Boehner said he believes taxpayers should help pick up the tab for the clean up.
"I think the people responsible in the oil spill--BP and the federal government--should take full responsibility for what's happening there," Boehner said at his weekly press conference this morning.'
Human Rights Group: BP Discouraging Crews From Using Respirators
Saturday, 12 June 2010
'BP's logic seems to be that if the oil cleanup doesn't look dangerous then it must not be. The oil company has told workers not to wear respirators because it's bad for public relations, according to one human rights group.
"In all three states that I've visited, fishermen said when they went out to work on the cleanup, that if they tried to bring respirators they were told it was unnecessary equipment and would only spread hysteria," Kennedy told Fox News Friday. "When I went out with eleven people, we had respirators on and within half an hour, all of our eyes were burning and our throats were closing and we all had headaches," she explained. Kennedy was also concerned that BP was refusing to release information about the contents of the dispersant being used.'
Doomed Labour's £1,300,000,000,000 Last Spending Spree
Saturday, 12 June 2010
Read more...
'The extraordinary extent of Labour's final spending spree - which cost the public purse £1.3 trillion even as the economy was sinking - was laid bare for the first time last night. Bills included £50 million to promote ballet and music, £5.6 million for pensions for the Royal Household and £38.4 million for gipsy encampments. Details of the spending - which saw public expenditure rise by 15 per cent over two years - are contained in a vast Treasury database which the Coalition has made public.'

US Slams Mention of Israeli Nukes at IAEA Meeting
Saturday, 12 June 2010
'US officials reacted angrily today at the inclusion of Israel’s nuclear arsenal as a topic of discussion for the IAEA meeting, insisting that it was “untimely and uncalled for.”
The meeting is the first IAEA meeting to oficially mention Israel since 1991, and included several Arab nations urging Israel to join the nuclear non-proliferation treaty (NPT). Israel has repeatedly and angrily refused to be a part of the treaty or to submit its arsenal to any international oversight.'
Maureen Spalek: Freemasonry, Kidnapping & Murder
Saturday, 12 June 2010
'When Maureen took her 4 year old with a broken leg to the hospital, she was forced to wait for over 24 hours before they would even treat him. Long enough to make any mother worth her salt angry enough to spit nails. When Maureen complained about this gross neglect, she was written up by the nurse in charge as being "defiant towards authority".
The Nurse also wrote other derogatory comments about Maureen and filed her report with Social Services. As a result, all 3 of Maureen's children were taken into custody by Social Services and placed in Foster homes. Maureen's children were kidnapped and placed with other families without so much as a hearing to validate the seriousness of the Nurse's report.'
The Futility of UN Security Council Resolutions
Saturday, 12 June 2010
'Although the United Nations Security Council, which some politicians believe is one of the most undemocratic organizations in the world, voted in favor of a fourth round of sanctions against Iran over its uranium enrichment program, the global public opinions are well aware of the fact that 15 countries, 5 of which are entitled to remain in an unquestionable monopoly and dominance, cannot in reality represent the interests of the international community.
The Security Council, which since its establishment has made discriminatory decisions against the world countries, especially the non-aligned nations who typically try to escape from the hegemony of superpowers, is notorious for its habitual exercise of double standards and it's clear to everyone that its resolutions are more often than not futile, ineffective, biased and unbinding.'
US 'Rolls Over' and Accepts Israeli Cover up of Gaza Flotilla Massacre
Saturday, 12 June 2010
'Despite calls for an international inquiry into a recent deadly Israeli attack on a Gaza-bound aid convoy, the US and Israel have agreed on an independent Israeli committee to probe the attack. The White House on Friday dismissed reports of backing a proposal by the United Nations for an international commission to investigate the assault on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla on May 31.
UN Secretary General Ban ki-Moon had put forward a proposal for the establishment of a panel headed by former New Zealand Prime Minister Geoffrey Palmer to look into the incident. The panel would have included representatives from Turkey, Israel and the United States.'
Pentagon Tracking Wikileaks Founder
Saturday, 12 June 2010
'Pentagon investigators are trying to discover the whereabouts of Wikileaks website founder Julian Assange for fear that he be may be on the verge of publishing classified US State Department cables.
The cables reportedly contain information related to US diplomatic and intelligence efforts in the war zones in Afghanistan and Iraq, according to a US diplomat.'
Mysterious Mountains Hidden Beneath Antarctic Ice Revealed
Friday, 11 June 2010
'The first detailed pictures of one of the planet's last unexplored frontiers — a vast mountain range that rivals the Alps in majesty buried underneath the ice of Antarctica — were revealed by scientists this week. The rugged peaks soar to more than 8,000 feet (2,400 meters). They are buried beneath solid ice more than a mile (1.6 kilometers) thick, deep within Antarctica's eastern interior.
The existence of this mountain range, called the Gamburtsev Mountains, shocked the Russian scientists who first discovered it more than 50 years ago, and mystery still shrouds the nearly 750-mile- (1,200-km-) long series of subglacial peaks.'
Chairman of Goldman Sachs International Was – Until Last Year – Also Chairman of BP
Friday, 11 June 2010
'Janine Wedel has written extensively on how the “shadow elite” rule the world and about the “flexians” – the movers and shakers of the shadow elite who glide across borders, and structure overlapping (and not fully revealed) roles in government, business, media, and think tanks to serve their own agendas.
Wedel says that flexians wear many hats both within and outside of government, and use their networks of contacts to influence policy – are warping our democracy and the rule of law. Peter Sutherland is the quintessential flexian.'
The World Cup as Maximum Weapon of Social Control

The truth is always more diffuse. Jacob Zuma, the country’s very corruptible third president, and his predecessors have sunk between $3.7 and $6 billion USD in infrastructure to burnish their images in a nation where 43 per cent of South Africa’s 45.000.000 peoples live on $2 or less a day. The gleaming $300,000,000 Soccer City Stadium where the July 11th finals will be staged, abuts Soweto, the festering high-crime enclave of 3,000,000 mostly threadbare citizens, 30 per cent of whom suffer from AIDS, according to the World Health Organization. Gangs of orphaned children rule the street.
Similarly, the stadium at Port Elizabeth on Nelson Mandela Bay, which came in at $287,000,000, was built over a slum from which hundreds were evicted. A school complex was demolished to make way for the Neusprot venue (only $140,000,000) – 13 such stadiums have risen from the dust amidst a storm of charges of kickbacks, bribery, and favoritism. Some who have spoken up have been brutalized.'

G20 Security to Jam Cellphone Signals
Friday, 11 June 2010
'Wireless companies say they’ve been told their signals may be jammed during the G8 and G20 summits, but aren’t being given any more information about how thousands of cellphone users could be affected.
While the G8 summit is in Ontario cottage country, the G20 is in the heart of downtown Toronto, and widespread shutdown of cellphone networks could wreak havoc on businesses already preparing to take a hit from security precautions in place for the meetings.'
Dog Owners Who Walk Their Pets on Leads Longer Than 6ft 8in Face £1,000 Fines
Friday, 11 June 2010
'They give dogs the freedom to run about without their owner having to worry about them dashing off to chase a passing cat. But now long leads have become the latest casualty of what critics say is a campaign by councils to curb the rights of dog owners.
Wardens in Greater Manchester have been ordered to target anyone using a lead longer than 6ft 8in with the threat of a £1,000 fine. Officials claim the tough rule - brought in by the last Government - is necessary to prevent dogs roaming out of control and to curb fouling. But they admit there have been no complaints'
Vatican Official Tied To BP, Goldman Sachs
Friday, 11 June 2010
'News unfolding from the oil crisis in the Gulf of Mexico has linked media censorship to investment bankers at Goldman Sachs (GS) stewarding the Vatican's wealth, and increasing evidence that the explosion was intended.
A near total news blackout from independent sources, and arrests of anyone caught photographing and filming the devastation, show the Halliburton-British Petrolium (BP) oil crisis is being criminally controlled, implicating some of Wall Street's heaviest hitters.
According to a report issued by frightened, yet faithful, documentary filmmaker, James Fox, interviewed from the Gulf's Grand Isles by Mel Fabregas on the Internet's Veritas Radio Show, "There is a complete media blackout" on news coverage broadcast from the region.'

Jews to Send Gaza Blockade-Buster Ship
Friday, 11 June 2010
'A group of Jewish activists in Germany are preparing to send an aid ship to the Gaza Strip, which has been under an Israeli-imposed blockade for three years. The group, which is the German branch of the European Jews for a Just Peace, plans to send the aid ship by the end of July.
"We want to break the Gaza occupation and end the occupation of the West Bank as well... we as Jews want to bring the Palestinians something other than bombs," Kate Katzenstein-Leiterer, a member of the executive committee of the group, said on Thursday.'
Toxic Corexit Dispersant Chemicals Remained Secret as Feds Colluded with Big Business
Friday, 11 June 2010
'After weeks of silence on the issue, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finally decided to go public with the list of ingredients used to manufacture Corexit, the chemical dispersant used by BP in the Gulf of Mexico oil disaster. There are two things about this announcement that deserve our attention: First, the ingredients that have been disclosed are extremely toxic, and second, why did the EPA protect the oil industry's "trade secrets" for so long by refusing to disclose these ingredients until now?
As reported in the New York Times, Brian Turnbaugh, a policy analyst at OMB Watch said, "EPA had the authority to act all along; its decision to now disclose the ingredients demonstrates this. Yet it took a public outcry and weeks of complaints for the agency to act and place the public's interest ahead of corporate interests".'
Israel's 'Self Defense' is Destroying the World
Friday, 11 June 2010
'In the 1967 war, Israel captured hundreds of Egyptian soldiers. According to international law, Israel should have protected them before taking them to court or banishing them to prison. But Israel massacred them in the desert. We never heard of any subsequent investigation by the international community. Whose rights of self defense were infringed on that occasion?
Massacres, like Sabra and Shatila, have been perpetrated in Lebanon. The Israeli version of this story is that, “we invaded Lebanon to kick out Palestinian fighters. Or to protect our borders. It’s all about self defense.” But disproportionate force was used by Israel.'
Public Consultation on Cuts is Vapid PR: Better to Save £205bn by Cutting Climate Change Agenda
Friday, 11 June 2010
'If Dave is looking for a massive cut in spending that would cause no pain whatsoever, except to prospective carbon traders, he should abandon the whole climate change nonsense. Since the Climate Change Bill in 2008, Britain has been signed up to a mind-boggling expenditure totalling £205bn over the next decade, or £10,000 for each family in the country. This to “fight” a non-existent threat, the great carbon phobia of man-made global warming.
Future historians will look back on this insanity and marvel at how a primitive and discredited superstition could so imprison the minds of politicians that they bankrupted their country in subservience to it. The money might as well be burned, for all the practical good it will do. Yet even in this emergency the financial cuts being imposed on the ludicrously titled Department of Energy and Climate Change amount to a puny £85m, virtually none of it shaved off the climate change agenda.'
Scientist Awed by Size, Density of Undersea Oil Plume in Gulf
Friday, 11 June 2010
'Vast underwater concentrations of oil sprawling for miles in the Gulf of Mexico from the damaged, crude-belching BP PLC well are unprecedented in "human history" and threaten to wreak havoc on marine life, a team of scientists said today, a finding confirmed for the first time by federal officials.
Researchers aboard the F.G. Walton Smith vessel briefed reporters on a two-week cruise in which they traced an underwater oil plum 15 miles wide, 3 miles long and about 600 feet thick. The plume's core is 1,100 to 1,300 meters below the surface, they said. "It's an infusion of oil and gas unlike anything else that has ever been seen anywhere, certainly in human history," said Samantha Joye of the University of Georgia, the expedition leader.'
Silencing Gaza Flotilla Activists in the United States
Friday, 11 June 2010
'The Israeli government, with the aid of its many proxies- especially in the Jewish institutional world, is working overtime after the Mavi Mavera massacre to paint the Gaza flotilla participants as terrorists.
Apparently–jamming satellite communications, absconding with tens of thousands of dollars of equipment, confiscating every photo and video they could find, and releasing pathetically doctored “evidence” (thank you Ali Abunimah and Max Blumenthal and others) is not enough. Now groups are working to keep flotilla human rights activists out of the country.'
Pelosi Says BP Lacks Integrity
Friday, 11 June 2010
'US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has strongly criticized BP over the Gulf of Mexico oil leak which has turned into the biggest environmental disaster in the US history. "It is clear that there was a lack of integrity on the part of BP," Pelosi told reporters in the White House driveway upon emerging from a congressional leaders meeting with President Obama on Thursday.
Pelosi questioned BP's authenticity about "the adequacy of their technology, the sufficiency of blowout prevention and the capacity to clean up".'
UK's Welfare System Targeted for Cuts
Thursday, 10 June 2010
'UK Chancellor George Osborne discloses that the government has targeted welfare benefits, tax credits and public sector pensions for spending cuts. It is the first time that Britain's welfare system has been identified for targeted cuts, with Osborne vowing to "comprehensively" scrutinise each area planned for cuts. Specific cuts will be made to Britain's child benefits, disability payments, and unemployment benefits.
Mr. Osborne's announcement was followed by an announcement by Fitch, one of the world's largest credit rating agencies, that spending cuts of £86 billion over the next five years are needed for Britain to maintain its reputation with international investors.'
USNORTHCOM Gears Up For Potential Attack On U.S. Soil
Thursday, 10 June 2010
'USNORTHCOM admits that they are preparing military operations within the United States. This is the first time in history this has been done. They will be working with DHS, state and local law enforcement on U.S. soil. The focus of this operation will be in our back yard. This ORI is planning on defending against enemy attacks, supporting civilian authorities with fighting an unconventional foe in the U.S.
NORTHCOM went on to say that the drill will be in the Gulf area. They antcicipate no infulstructure and extreme weather conditions.'
Music Industry on Verge of Total Collapse
Thursday, 10 June 2010
'Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke is warning the music industry is on the brink of collapse, insisting young musicians should resist signing record deals because the major labels will "completely fold" within months.
The British rockers broke away from their longtime label, EMI, in 2007 and went on to embrace the new digital era with the release their seventh album, In Rainbows, which they offered up over the internet and allowed fans to choose the price. Yorke has now issued a warning to upcoming artists, urging them not to sign traditional record deals because they would be tying themselves to "the sinking ship".'
James Fox Reports on Media Blackout in Gulf Oil Spill
Thursday, 10 June 2010
'According to documentary film maker, James Fox, reporting from Louisiana, there is a massive media black out being perpetrated in the Gulf of Mexico BP Oil spill. While that much may have seemed obvious to many, James says that people with cameras are being threatened with arrest, and locals are seriously afraid to talk. The place is swarming with both government officials and corporate officials, and by the sounds of this interview it's a pretty scary situation.'
UK Monitors Suspected Radicals as Part of European Surveillance Project
Thursday, 10 June 2010
'The UK is taking part in a European surveillance programme which is designed to gather personal information about suspected "radicals" from across the political spectrum. Confidential documents reveal how an initiative to gather data on "radicalisation and recruitment" in Islamic terrorist groups has been expanded to incorporate other organisations.
Political activists who have no association with terrorism could now find themselves monitored by authorities mandated to discover information about their friends, family, neighbours, political beliefs, use of the internet and even psychological traits. Police and security agencies have agreed to monitor "agents" who adhere to ideologies potentially involving violence. The documents define targets for the surveillance as people involved in "extreme right/left, Islamist, nationalist, anti-globalisation" groups.'
BBC Sabotaging Press TV Broadcasts
Thursday, 10 June 2010
'The British Broadcasting Corporation is showering Afghan cable networks with lucrative deals to cut broadcastings of Iran's English-language news channel, Press TV. The Press TV bureau in Kabul was informed on Wednesday that "a number of BBC employees have recently contacted the cable networks' union in Herat to persuade them into breaking contract with Press TV and blocking all satellite transmission of its programs."
"The BBC reportedly offered to triple the union's pay once it agrees to strip Press TV of its broadcasting rights in Herat," the bureau added.'
Attorney: Deepwater Horizon Managers Knew About Oil Rig Problem Before Explosion
Thursday, 10 June 2010
'Top Houston attorney Tony Buzbee says he has new evidence which indicates that Deepwater Horizon’s managers knew that the BP oil rig had major problems before its explosion on April 20, citing the eyewitness account of a crew member who rescued burning workers on the rig of a conversation between Deepwater Horizon installation manager Jimmy Harrell and someone in Houston. According to the witness, Harrell was screaming, “Are you fucking happy? Are you fucking happy? The rig’s on fire! I told you this was gonna happen".'
